Shell Truck will be seen on city streets throughout the United States during 2006 and 2007 (including downtown Manhattan, DC and Chicago). Shell Truck is a pickup covered in thousands of sea shells arranged in intricate mosaic patterns, including over 700 Pacific sand dollars. As a traveling art piece, anyone can catch a glimpse of the truck. Mike Garibaldi and three friends are driving Shell Truck from San Francisco to New York and back with the inspirational public art project, Dialogue (spring and early summer tour dates below). Shell Truck always creates a huge splash
everywhere it goes. People literally stop in their tracks and pull over to
the side of the road to look at the truck. And Mike always gets the same
questions:
"Do they fall off?" "How do you wash the car?" "How long did it take to apply the shells?" "Why did you do it?" "Where did you find all the shells?" As quickly as Shell Truck and the Dialogue project arrive in the tour cities, they are gone and off to the next city, so catch them while you can!
